ESTABLISHED IN YEAR 2018

The Bakhtawar Mannar Institute of Nursing (SMC-Private) Limited (formerly Bakhtawar Mannar Institute of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences) refer here as an “institute” is registered with Pakistan Nursing Council Islamabad since August 8, 2018, affiliated with Dow University of Health Sciences since December 29, 2020, and Sindh Nurses Examination Board (Govt. of Sindh), and approved with Health Department (Govt. of Sindh) since February 11, 2021.

Institute offers academic programs with clinical practices leading to a degree and diploma in nursing and allied health sciences. Clinical affiliations of the institute with Civil Hospital Karachi (dated February 12, 2022), Park Lane Hospital, Darul Sehat Hospital (dated November 27, 2019), and LYARI General Hospital (dated November 29, 2019),  are the great resources for the students to develop their practical nursing skills. Memorandum of undersatnding of the institute with Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource Research & Development Board (Skill development training under PSTW-Phase Xlll dated February 24, 2021 with 50 CMW/LHV students) and (Phase XIV dated December 14, 2022 with 150 students in CNA/LHV/CMW) is creating internship facilitates for the students.

In order to safeguard its affairs, the institute incorporated itself as a Company on November 9, 2021 in addition to registration with FBR. On March 12, 2022, the institute became the member of Karachi Chamber of Commerce. The registered office of the institute is situated at Plot # AS-1/5, 2429+W5, 6 1, Ahsanabad 3 Sector-I Gulzar E Hijri Scheme 33, Karachi, 75430 Sindh Pakistan.

Dear Applicants,
Nurses are the backbone of our health care system. Challenges are the daily norms and being self-driven by the desire to care is a must. You are new buds in the garden of nursing profession having your own dreams and ways to fulfil them. It is my pride and a moral duty to welcome you all in nursing profession which is accepted as one of the most challenging, noble and respectable profession by the people with multidimensional socio-cultural background. The nurses are ready to face challenges of the 21st century: multiculturalism, globalization, changing technology, explosions of knowledge and political philosophies too. We have to accept new knowledge, technology skills and newly emerging value system in health care along with holistic and humanistic approach towards care which are indispensable parts of nursing. Our students are also cheerful, giggling, dancing and bubbling with enthusiasm and hopes. I am sure that students’ energizing ability, intelligent contribution and competitive spirit would bear fruitful results and each one of you shall carry pleasant memories of this college. Our students’ success cannot be defined by qualifications alone. Our graduates leave as dynamic young men and women, equipped to play leadership roles in whatever path they choose in life. To achieve this, students are encouraged not only to commit themselves to their academic program but equally importantly to participate in extensive opportunities available beyond the classroom. We are proud of our academic programs that provide a holistic education taught by well qualified faculty. We are equally proud of our creative avenues for students to pursue and benefit from. The faculty advisors play a central role in all such activities. Institute life may be overwhelming as it is decidedly different from the school along college experience you are familiar with. We are responsible for promoting public confidence to give value-added education to secure our student’s future, institute’s good-will, dignity of our teachers and ultimate welfare of our society and humanity at large.

We as a institute of nursing education, feel prime responsibility to enhance excellent quality in education to meet the global challenges. Our ultimate goal is to provide conducive environment to the students for effective learning.
In the present scenario our major contribution is to develop our human resources through conducting in-house training sessions, awareness seminars, for the program team members, faculty and senior management on the subject of Quality Assurance preparation of self-assessment reports.

We ensure our compatibility with HEC Standards to improve the quality of higher education. For continual improvement we regularly review our academic program by adopting consistency of procedures for self-assessment system. Student course evaluation, teacher’s evaluation, graduating student survey and employee’s survey are the important tools which are used for this purpose. A simple and clear follow-up procedure is in place to review the action taken by each program.

Meet Miss Shahnaz, a dedicated and accomplished professional with a Master’s degree in Education from Jinnah University for Women. She currently serves in the administration of Bakhtawar Mannar Institute of Nursing (BMION), where she leverages her expertise to enhance student counseling and maintain academic records with precision. In addition to her administrative role, she represents BMION as the focal person at Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) and the Sindh Nursing Board Karachi, ensuring effective communication and coordination between institutions.

Meet Sir Sabir Aftab, a dedicated nursing professional with a strong academic background and extensive experience in patient care and nursing education. He holds a Post RN-BSN degree from Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences with an impressive GPA of 3.91, along with diplomas in General Nursing, Cardiac Nursing, and Infection Control.

With a passion for healthcare and education, Sir Sabir has served as a Staff Nurse at Health Care Hospital, Liaquat National Hospital, and NICVD Hospital, gaining hands-on experience in patient care, surgical procedures, and pacemaker management.

Currently, he contributes to the Bakhtawar Mannar Institute of Nursing (BMION) as a Nursing Instructor, where he imparts his knowledge and expertise to aspiring nurses, shaping the future of healthcare professionals. His commitment to excellence and patient welfare makes him a valuable asset to the field of nursing education.
